Course Description:
The EMS Instructor course is designed to provide EMS professionals with the latest techniques and skills necessary to teach students in various EMS courses. Students will be required to learn the fundamentals of EMS instruction and successfully complete assignments, quizzes, exams, and a final recorded presentation. Successful students will be endorsed to teach EMS courses in the State of Nevada up to the level of their current EMS certification. Course completion certificates will be awarded to the student once all objectives and assignments have been completed.
Course Schedule:
Participants must complete 40 hours of course content over the span of 8 weeks’ time. This class is self-paced and 100% online. This course will be held in January 2026. For a sooner class, please see class schedule for October's course.
Prerequisites:
Students must be currently certified as an EMT at a minimum.
Course Objectives:
- Provide the necessary tools and resources to expedite development as proficient learning mentors.
- Offer up-to-date insights into the teaching and learning dynamics, enabling EMS educators to guide their students towards achieving their educational objectives.
- Create avenues for educators to connect with peers, benefit from the guidance of seasoned educators, and serve as an opportunity for personal advancement.
